Valentines, homeless teens and more topics for TCL fellowship series

The February calendar for the Wednesday Community Fellowship series at Trinity Lutheran Church in Jefferson includes information about antique Valentines and local homeless teens.

“This is an interesting afternoon, learning so much about our community. We receive a very personal insight on these topics, and all our questions are answered,” said Lois Rae Brant, service opportunity coordinator at Trinity Lutheran.

Terry Johnson, Genesis Development CEO, will provide an update on that organization Feb. 5. On Feb. 12, Mikki Schwarzkopf will talk about the history of Valentines and her collection of antique Valentines. Kyle Kinne, counselor at Greene County High School, will describe the services offered for homeless teens in the county on Feb. 19.

A series on career development by human resources professional Scott Graham will continue Feb. 26. Graham’s topic will be “Career Development: The Other Side.” He will share an employer’s perspective on candidates and personal development, as well as tips to help persons land a job.

Each Wednesday the doors open at 3 pm for social time. The speaker begins at 4 pm and a light supper is served at 5:30. All ages are welcome; there is no charge.

Persons who would like to hear a speaker about a particular topic are welcome to contact Brant at 515-386-5249 or email her at loistlc@netins.net
